Moulton Matters
Strategic Planning Committee Meeting
Many of you may have seen the webcast of the Strategic Planning Committee Meeting - if you haven’t you still have time to check it out:
www.cheshirewestandchester.public-i.tv/core/
Initially a motion was proposed to reject this application on the policy NE12 which means the erosion of the boarder separating the villages of Moulton & Davenham. The rejection motion was then changed as questions regarding Moulton Primary School were unanswered. The planning committee voted to DEFER this application on the ground of insufficient information regarding Education issues. The next planning meeting will be on 9th May.
But before that we have the delivery of our Planning Process Petition
This is regarding the the flaws in the current Planning Process being presented at Wyvern House, Winsford at 6:30pm on Thursday - some more signatures would be very much appreciated.
In addition …
We could do with some more email support from you all as there would appear some whopping contradictions and hypocracy going on here. I can supply you with all the email addresses you may need plus an on-going collection of relevant quotes to support any disagreements you may have with the planning to date. I’ve attached all the details in a spreadsheet – we’re doing what we can to make this as easy as possible for you.
Please eMail me at modelspc@aol.com if you have any problems or further thoughts.

Other housing Developments (from Davenham site)
The Davenham development is calling for 36 new homes to be built in the green field (about the size of a football pitch) behind 16 Green Lane with an access road at the turning in Green Lane but additional proposals are for 1000 new homes being built in Wincham, 150 in Moulton, 150 in Sandiway/Cuddington, another 650 being pushed through in Hartford again, already inundated with heavy traffic, another 150 being discussed at Lostock as well as the recent go-ahead for the Waste Incinerator at Broken Cross, this continual assault by developers on this local area is getting truly out of hand. That’s over 2,000 new homes and a monstrous incinerator AND GREEDY DEVELOPERS JUST WANT MORE, MORE AND MORE???
Rumour and Fact – an update
There are numerous Rumours going around the village regarding the proposed development by Richborough. Some of them are way wide of the mark and others are getting close to the FACTS. On this site we are presenting you with the FACTS as fast as they come in. So for now a little feedback from the Christmas Fair.
Rumour - Planning permission has been granted and the school is to be extended. It’s all a fait accompli and people think there’s nothing they can do about it. This comes from the old canteen – earmarked for lots of uses but now the school has said it wants it back for its own use. Rumour is that it’s because of this school extension and they don’t want to tell anybody.
We need people to sign up to the website so we can keep them informed, with FACTS such as :
FACT: There is a PROPOSAL to build 148 houses.
FACT: Planning permission has NOT yet been sought or granted.
FACT: There is a PROPOSAL by Richborough to extend the school.
FACT: The school governors unanimously agreed not to support the planned extension (as outlined by Richborough on 20/11/2012), as it does not meet the needs of the school.
FACT: We really need YOUR support! We want to Fight the Facts not Relay the Rumours !
FACT : Public Consultation Sessions - left most if not all attendees totally dissatisfied and completely unimpressed. Have RE got their facts straight – we think not !
General Background
Developers are proposing to build 150 houses on green fields between Moulton and Davenham. This will have major change on both villages and the surrounding area. Moulton’s population will increase by more than 25%. The development could bring as many as 400 + vehicles travelling already congested roads through Moulton and Davenham. The potential increase of children by approximately 250 would put a huge strain on the education system which may affect anyone with a child coming upto pre-school or school age.
Concerned residents have formed Working Groups following advice received from the Hartford Action Group (who successfully objected to their proposed development). These Working Groups focus on areas of objection and work to ensure a responsible approach is taken. We need help, your help … if you would like to join one of the Working Groups or are able to help in any way please complete the “Join the Moulton Matters Team” form with your details.
